Honda Civic Sales Numbers Strong Before Release of New Model

New Model Honda CivicThe Honda Civic is one of the Honda Motor Company’s best selling cars and is one of the most recognizable vehicles on the road today. Honda built their reputation of high quality and reliability on the Civic model and really put them on the map as a major automotive manufacturer in the worldwide automotive industry. The Honda Civic sales are still strong today, as the world awaits the brand new 2012 model version which comes with a complete update of the looks and mechanics of the car. The Honda Civic has been one of the top ten best selling cars in the United States and it is important for the company that the new model achieve the same success that the outgoing model has.

The Civic is the company’s bread and butter and represents a large portion of the companies automotive sales and profits. There is not doubt in my mind that Honda will see good sales numbers for the new version in the beginning, but the car faces a lot of stiff competition in the American automotive market today. One major competitor is the Volkswagen Jetta whose price has been reduced for the new model to somewhere around $15,000. By comparison the current Honda Civic model starts at $16,355 and cars can reach well over $20,000. Another tough competitor comes in the form of the Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai has seen a lot of brand growth in the United States and its sales numbers are increasingly breaking company records. The only thing that might hurt Elantra sales is the fact that the Hyundai factories in the United States are reaching production capacity and the company might face a problem of supply. Toyota Hybrid Sports CarEvery loyal customer to Toyota and the people behind the company itself are looking forward to 2008. Why? Because that is the slated release for the much-awaited Toyota hybrid sports car dubbed the Volta. Toyota has always been known to set itself apart from all other car manufacturers, releasing some of the most outrageous designs that seem to grow onto society once the cars establish themselves as bestsellers.

Japan Goes Italian

Toyota’s hybrid sports car can only be a real head turner. This is what’s expected when you have an elite group of designers to give the new concept car a new, nice Italian twist. Pictures of the concept car have emerged from the company itself and the first thing that may come to mind is the Lamborghini Diablo; only the Volta is eco-friendly.

Toyota believes that hybrid technology can also be used in high-performance vehicles such as the Toyota Volta. After all, it is rumored to go from 0-60 in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph; not as fast as the Diablo or any Ferrari but the important thing is how much gas this vehicle doesn’t use.
